Discover Sayuri Sugawara, 18, via her PV

The young girl has just made her major debut, thanks to her winning an audition organized by For Life last year..

Sayuri Sugawara was discovered by For Life at the beginning of 2008, during a big audition that For Life had organized. The young girl, who was just a secondary school student coming from the "country" (she comes from Akita), won the audition thanks to her clear voice and the freshness of her performance. Then, in December 2008, she released an indies CD (limited to 1000 copies), and a song available for download. This song featuring rapper FEROS is entitled Destiny, and uses a sample of Liebesträume (Love dreams), Franz Liszt's classic work. The result is a R&B ballad that you can listen to in full on her MySpace.

On April 8th, Sayuri Sugawara made her major debut with the release of a mini-album including Destiny feat. FEROS, and entitled Kimi ni Okuru Kotoba. It is produced by Sin, who already worked with Aya Ueto and Takako Matsu. Kimi ni Okuru Kotoba is also the name of the album's title song, the lyrics of which were written by Sayuri herself. Its PV has just been uploaded on YouTube by For Life:

Sayuri Sugiwara has just graduated from high school, and she is now 18. She says she would like to become an artist whose songs and lyrics give energy and courage to people who listen to them, just like Miwa Yoshida and DREAMS COME TRUE that she seems to admire a lot.
