Tetsuya Komuro's trial ended on April 24th with a last hearing day during which the prosecutors demanded an exemplary sentence..

Sued for fraud because he got an advance of 500 million yens on the sale of song rights which did not belong to him, Tetsuya Komuro was visibly shaken when the prosecutors announced his sentence: five years' jail, which is an exemplary penalty justified by TK's abuse of his priviledged worshipped producer status. "His view on the money value defies good sense. He deserves a severe sanction to be responsible again", one of the prosecutors said.

TK's defense lawyer asked for the sentence to become a suspended sentence, reminding everyone that the artist already made it up to the plaintiffs (with avex's help) by paying back 600 million yens. His lawyers also mentionned his huge contribution to the musical industry, and have a petition of 6.000 signatures of fans, with accounts of music professionals, all intervening on TK's behalf. TK apologized once more, while the president of the swindled investors' group heckled him, hoping TK would be able to become an honest man one day.

The verdict will be delivered in mid-May 2009.
