Anam & Maki split up !

Be it as massive as the Hello!Project's, as sudden as melody's, or as farcical as DJ OZMA's, ending carrers are trendy these days. Sadly, a name has just been added to the already long list, which makes mimu look like a death notice website..

Today is about Anam & Maki, a duet qualified as an "Aggressive acoustic guitar band" and that is not famous enough. By the end of the year, the two women will put an end to this 13-year common adventure, 8 of which were produced by Warner. The split could almost have been predicted when last September 24, Anam & Maki released a best-of album called Best Desu, making a pun in Japanese with the word "death". Also last September, they released single Aru ga mama, the ending theme for anime Nabari no Ou and maybe one of their best songs. Meanwhile, Anamu Kawashima and Maki Honda will have their last promotional campaign for the release in November of movie Chikyuu no Heso (The Navel of the Earth), for which they have written the theme song, Hinata Himawari.

Tomorrow, October 24, the duet will give what seems to be its last concert in the Kantou region, about which we will try to publish a live report in order to pay a tribute to this amazing duet. After that, the two artists will go back to their homeland, the Kansai region, for a very last series of concerts.
